Our experience with the Tenga Double Hole has been…interesting, to say the least.

To open your Tenga Double Hole. Just tear down the perforated lines and then across at each end. The lines don’t perforate all the way down the cup because the packaging is also a label so you’ll always know which end is which.

Upon pulling the cap off one end of the Tenga Double Hole Cup, the thing came on me with lots of somewhat smelly lube. (FYI: The lube has parabens in it.) Well, I decided to try to clean it out in the sink. That took absolutely forever! It kept oozing lube!

Lube Ingredients:

purified water, glycerin, sodium polyacrylate, phenoxy ethanol, and paraben

Eventually, some little foam discs and dots (1) came out that were just soaked in lube. I figured maybe that was the problem and had the hubby smell them. He said it smelled like that neon goo you’d get out of quarter machines in the grocery store when you’re a kid. O...k… That’s an odd way to put it, but sure…it smells like something.

Not Intended for More Than One Use

Are you friggin’ kidding me? Why does Tenga make so many sex toys designed for one use and that’s it? (Tenga Egg (review here) said it was once use, too. Still using it!) I hate the thought of so many sex toys going to landfills. (sex toy recycling program) But, then again, who’s going to want to use this thing again after they’ve cum in it once and capped it up. Don’t open it back it. Seriously, don’t. I’ve known people who haven’t cleaned masturbation toys out properly and ended up with sex toys that smelled like an infected ear piercing.

You can use this thing more than once! Wear a condom each time! Or you could even go through the trouble of taking it apart, cleaning it, and putting it back together if you have the patience of a Saint.

To Hide and to Hold: Pocket Garter

Materials:
yarn
  2 balls of Cascade Fixation (#9349)
needles - size 5 needles (3-3/4mm). Any type will do, even double-pointed. Put a rubber band on the ends to keep your work from sliding off.
matching sewing thread
15 yards of elastic cord (optional - see details in last section)
tapestry needle
scissors

Gauge
6.5 sts per inch when knitting is relaxed. As an option, you can use whatever gauge you get if you don't mind a taller or shorter garter. Just make sure the height of the pockets will accommodate your lipstick, keys, etc.

Stretch Yarn Knitting Tips
With elastic yarn like Cascade Fixation, be aware of the tension on the yarn while you knit in order to keep the knitting consistent. When I knit this on size 5 needles, I kept the yarn mostly stretched, but not fully taught, while knitting. I changed the way I wrapped the yarn through my fingers for tension to keep it from becoming too tight and difficult to knit. Do whatever works for you.

Abbreviations
CO = cast on (use long tail cast on)
k = knit
p = purl
yo = yarn over
k2tog = knit 2 together
BO = bind off (basic knit bind off)
overcast stitch = sewing along the edge, the same path as wire in a spiral bound notebook

Garter Body
CO 36 sts, using long tail CO. Use an extra long tail, about 4 feet, so you have extra left over (for sewing pockets later).

Row 1: k1, (k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog) twice, knit to end of row.

Rows 2 and 4: knit every stitch, except when you work the 2 adjacent yo's (can't miss 'em), knit the first, but purl the second.

Row 3: k3, (k2tog, yo, yo, k2tog) twice, knit to end of row. Knit the first stitch of the row (don't slip it), and knit it with average tension. No worries if you forget here and there. It won't show, but it will give you a more stretchy side edge which works best for this pattern.

Repeat the above four rows until item is long enough to stretch around your leg. You'll want to stretch it out to as tight as it can reasonably be. Finish row 4 of the pattern, then BO 16 sts at the beginning of the next row.

 

Overlapping Pocket Flap
Work remaining 20 stitches in garter stitch (knit every row), until this section is a third or more of the length of the body of the garter (or sufficient size to create the number of pockets you want) (figure A). BO all remaining stitches.

Sewing Side Seam and Pockets
Using tail from CO, sew the sides of the body of the garter pocket together, as if the pocket flap wasn't there. You can use a simple overcast stitch, backstitch or mattress stitc— whatever you like—but do use a loose overcast stitch for the bottom edge to allow stretch along the bottom.

The pocket flap is ready to sew down along the bottom edge. Overcast or whipstitch the bottom edge of the pocket to the bottom edge of the garter body. Line up the garter stitch ridges, and sew between the ridges, or wherever you like. Just be sure that the piece can stretch fully when you've done sewing this edge.

Sew up the side edge of the pocket to the body, weave in the end and cut to create one large pocket (figure B). Try on the garter, and put items that you wish to carry in the pocket. Note the size of these then sew vertical dividing lines at the notations using a loose backstitch to fashion the big pocket into several smaller ones (figure C). Weave in all remaining ends.

Keeping the Garter Pocket in Place
There are a couple of tricks to making sure this garter pocket stays where you want it. The easiest is to simply sew the pocket to a favorite pair of leggings (figure D). It's guaranteed to stay where you put it and also be comfortable. Just loosely stitch it in place while wearing it in the position you want. With objects in it, the garter will stretch down a bit, so sew it high enough to generously clear your skirt. Stitch in a single line around the thigh, directly below the lacy pattern of the garter and run the needle alternately between the garter and the leggings, backstitching occasionally to keep the thread from shifting. It is okay if you can't reach the entire area in the back of your leg, the garter pocket should still stay up fine. The garter pocket can stay attached to one pair of leggings, or easily be sewn onto another pair.

Another option is to run strands of elastic cord along the inside of the garter pocket through the garter stitch ridges(figure E). Do this with each strand so it forms a ring around the thigh, and leave the two ends dangling next to each other. Put on the garter, pull each strand's ends to comfortable tension, and knot them together. Since solo elastics distort the shape of the thigh, it looks best to use about a dozen of them, evenly spaced (1/2" to 3/4" apart) throughout the garter pocket. You'll want 10 to15 yards of elastic for it to look best (although half that would keep it up on the leg). The elastic cord should be nearly 1/16" thick. Match the color to your yarn, or it will show.

Vest

Front and Back alike: Cast on 103 sts. on No. 9 needles and knit first row into back of sts. Now work in following pattern; (A multiple of 10 sts. plus 3).

Row 1—K. 1, K. 2 tog., *w.t., K. 3, w.t., K. twice into next st., w.f., K. 3, w.f., slip 1, K. 2 tog., p.s.s.o., repeat from * across row, ending the last repeat slip 1, K. 1, p.s.s.o., K. 1.

Row 2 and all alternate rows— Purl.

Row 3—K. 1, K. 2 tog., * w.f., K. 3 tog., w.f., K. 2 tog., w.f., slip 1, K. 1, p.s.s.o., w.f., slip 2, K. 1, p.s.s.sts.o., w.f., slip 1, K. 2 tog., p.s.s.o., repeat from * across row, ending last repeat slip 1, K. 1, p.s.s.o., K. 1.

K. 1, w.f., K. 3, w.f., K. 1, w.f., slip 2, K.1, p.s.sts.o., K. 1.

Row 11—K. 2, * K. 2 tog., w.f., K. 1, w.f., slip 1, K. 2 tog., p.s.s.o., w.f., K. 1, w.f., slip 1, K. 1, p.s.s.o., K. 1, repeat from * to last st., K. 1,

Row 12—Purl.

Repeat from Row 1, 4 times (48 rows in all).

Now change to st. st. and work until vest measures 14 inches from start. Change to No. 12 needles and decrease to 93 sts. by knitting every 9th and 10th sts. tog. across row. Work 3 1/2 inches in K.1, P. 1 ribbing. Change back to No. 10 needles and st. st. and work 3 inches.

Work in pattern for 36 rows, (3 repeats). Work 4 rows in garter st. and cast off loosely. Work another piece in the same manner.

Panties

Right Leg: Cast on 103 sts. with No. 10 needles and work in pattern given for vest, commencing to increase at each end of the 4th row and thereafter increasing at each end of every 4th row (working these increased sts. in st. st.) until 3 complete patterns have been completed. Continue increasing at each end of every 4th row, working in st. st. until there are 123 sts. on needle. Work 3 rows even.

Decrease at each end of alternate rows, twice, then decrease at each end of every 4th row, 8 times. (103 sts. on needle). Continue in st. st. until leg measures 8 inches from first decrease row. Commence shaping back as follows:

P. 53, turn—knit back.
Next row—P. 50, turn—knit back.
Next row—P. 45, turn—knit back.
Next Row—P. 40, turn—knit back
Next Row—P. 35, turn—knit back
Change to No. 12 needles and work across entire row in K. 1, P. 1 ribbing for 3 1/2 inches. Cast off.

Work left leg in same manner, except that the back shaping will be:
K. 53, turn—purl back
Next Row—K. 50, turn—purl back
Next Row—K. 45, turn—purl back
Next Row—K. 40, turn—purl back
Next Row—K. 35, turn—knit back

Finishing

Press all pieces carefully. Sew up side seams of vest. Work a row of picot edging around top edge of vest. Sew shoulder straps in place. Sew up front and back leg seams of panties. Work a row of picot edging around bottom of each leg. If necessary a casing for elastic may be crocheted around top of pantie ribbing, as given in General Instructions [1].

Picot Edging

Start at the edge of the garment with 1 double crochet (US single crochet) * ch 3, 1 dc into first of these ch, 3 dc; repeat from * ending with 1 dc

This looked much better on the model than it does on me.

I feel ridiculous in this lingerie! I’m too short and too small to wear this. Can you see how far down the cincher is on me? I mean, I have others and they don’t go that low on me. Cinchers are meant to control the waist, not go down past the hips.

I wore this once to do the review and I’ll probably never wear it again. I’m not even worried about showing the hubby. There’s no point in trying to show off in something that doesn’t make me feel sexy. I’ll keep the thong, though. At least that fits.

I was so excited when it arrived wrapped in tissue paper like a nice little present. After I put it on, the novelty of this outfit quickly wore off.

 

My first couple issues: The cincher is way too low. It actually covers up part of my butt! That wouldn’t be such a problem if the straps that go to it were actually adjustable. They’re not. Only the straps at the bottom of the cincher are adjustable. I know, the EF page says the straps are adjustable. Well, they should specify that not all of them are.

You’re completely stuck with the length that they’re at. It’s held in place by a button, and not a very good one. Bend over with this on and you’ll see what I mean. I’ve had the catch come loose off of the button almost every time I’ve bent down. It’s because the button isn’t flush with the fabric. It just flops around. And look! A string!

 

Next issue: The bra may have an underwire, but I hardly see how that does any good. My boobs look pointy in this bra and the cups just don’t look right. I’m not the only one who thinks that looks funky in the middle, right?

 

Next issue: More strings! This one is hanging from the bottom of the left cup on the bra. Being a seamstress, leftover strings really bug me. Messy, messy, messy. There are also some strings that hang from the straps, the bottom of the cincher, the little loops that hold the removable straps on the bra, etc.

 

Next issue: Look ma, no figure! The cincher is too big. So, basically, it looks like I have no figure at all. Brilliant. Lingerie that makes me look like a board with no curves whatsoever. –_- Oh, and one cup is higher in the middle than the other. What to do? I guess I could just re-size the blasted thing.  Well, let’s just shift it down!

 

Aha! It makes a better skirt! Not exactly a new concept to me. I’ve made a skirt out of a cincher from HotTopic before. Check it!

 

Everything in this lingerie set is nylon (bra, thong, and cincher). The cincher is actually striped with solid satin strips, though. And the bra has a solid satin strip that lines the top edge of the cups. It’s comfy. No itching at all, just some strings that bother me. It’s stretchy and should adjust to fit others. The bra can adjust through three sets of catches in the back, plus adjustable shoulder straps. Cincher is not adjustable, but is very stretchy.

Am I keeping this set? Pfft! No! Why would I keep something I don’t feel sexy in? I’m keeping the thong, though. The set looks better when you just wear the bra and thong, but I’m still not happy with the bra, so this set is pointless to me. The bra and cincher might just go to GoodWill. Or, I guess, if anyone wants them, let me know.

Packaging: Not too much of a problem with that. Came in a plastic bag wrapped in pink tissue paper. The only issue I had with it was the tag which has the pic of the model on it. Went to the shredder.

Pros: um…*sighs*…yeah, well… It makes a nifty mini skirt?

Cons: I’m too short and too skinny for this to look good on me…

Summary: 1/5 Strings, strange fittings, and non-adjustable straps. Nope. Not for me. By the looks of the size chart, this should fit me and make me look sexy. Verdict = fail.
