I’ll admit, I had been eying the Tantus O2 Cush since it was released. The dual density really intrigued me, mostly for the fact that I wanted to see how it measured up to the dual density of another dildo I have. So, naturally, I was delighted to see it show up in a review package from Tantus.
The O2 line from Tantus are dual density toys that are designed to have a realistically familiar feel. The SuperSoft™ outside and the hard muscle core are both made of Tantus’ own unique blend of 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone.

All Tantus toys are hand-made in the U.S.A. from the highest quality 100% Premium Platinum Silicone (If cared for properly, it will last a lifetime). That means they’re hypoallergenic, hygienic, phthalate-free, odorless, tasteless, boilable, bleachable, and completely nontoxic! They are also manufactured 100% green.
The O2 Cush holds onto heat well, so pop it in bowl of warm water before play to make it feel even more realistic. Just be careful not to get the water too hot!
Texture/Firmness
The texture of the outer layer of the O2 Cush is very smooth and soft and could be compared to the feeling of TPR, TPE, jelly, and other softer materials, but it’s pure silicone and much safer and hygienic. Right out of the packaging, it feels sort of sticky. This will go away after some washing, though. Otherwise, the O2 Cush has a matte finish.
Inside the soft and squishy layer of silicone is a very firm silicone core, which continues until the tip of the head, thus making the head feel similar to the head of a real penis. It may look slightly pointy, but the head is so soft and is very comfortable, even if hubby really rams the O2 Cush in me (which he has a habit of doing with dildos in general). Although the core is very solid, it will bend.
If you’ve had any Vixen Creations VixSkin toys, you can sort of imagine what the O2 Cush feels like. Compared to my VixSkin Lonestar, I’d say that the core of the O2 Cush is a little firmer and the outer layer is more squishy.
Design

The O2 Cush is girthy and lightly textured with a pronounced head and a ripple about halfway down the shaft. The head and ripple may look a little rough, but they’re very soft and forgiving. The head is excellent for g-spot stimulation.
The ripple provides stimulation to my rather long labia and the very opening of my vagina. I haven’t been able to take this dildo all the way, since it’s 6 3/4” of insertable length, but I’m not complaining.
The flared base is rather small, so be careful using this for anal. I’m just saying that as a precaution, because you never know. I don’t really think there should be any black hole butt issues, though. (Y’know, when your but swallows toys.)
Although I’m very happy with the O2 Cush for vaginal penetration, I haven’t tried it for anal. The reason for that is mostly because I haven’t worked up to toys this big yet. Given my vagina’s satisfaction with the O2 Cush, I’d be willing to bet it would make a really nice anal toy. I’d rather use the skinnier O2 Flurry for anal, though. Aside from being skinnier, it’s also got a wider, thicker base to make it easier to hold onto and to prevent and black hole butt issues.
Lube
Use only water-based lube, as silicone lube can damage silicone toys. Since the surface is so smooth, thinner lubes won’t stick to it as well as thicker lubes will.
Cleaning
You can boil the O2 Cush for 5-10 minutes, stick it in the top rack dishwasher, wipe with a 10% bleach solution and rinse, or simply wash with soap and water.
Storage
Silicone is pretty much a magnet for hair and dust, so keep the O2 Cush somewhere safe from dust and hair, where it won’t get squished. You can keep it in the packaging that it came in, a Ziploc bag, a toy storage unit, or wherever it will be stay safe and clean.
Packaging
The O2 Cush came in Tantus’ traditional packaging. The whole thing is clear plastic so that the toy can be viewed from all angles. The only thing obstructing the view is the printed information about Tantus and about their silicone toys. No information was provided about the O2 Cush on the packaging. It’s basically cookie cutter packaging, if you will, that is designed to be used for a number of toys, not just the O2 Cush in particular.
Opinion
I love the O2 Cush. I can definitely say this is one of my favorites from Tantus, right next to my beloved Rascal. If you want something that feels fairly life-like and is body-safe, the O2 Cush is the way to go!

Thanks for the review! I've been eyeing this one as well, might have to add it to my wishlist.
Happy to be of service ^-^
And I'm giving one of these babies away in pink. (ends 10/31/2011)
Man, you got both the Cush AND Flurry. I'm quite jealous!
When does the Flurry come out, do you know?
I'm not sure. I thought it was supposed to be up on Tantus' site last Monday, but I saw last night that it isn't up yet.
I like Tantus... sell a lot of them, their silicone and at a pretty good price
Yep, and their closeout sales are insane. I got a Rascal for only $11 once.
I didn't think this was going to be massive since you have tiny hands but it is THICK. lol Still curious about the dual density material though. :P
heh Yeah, it's pretty thick. The dual density material is really something you have to feel for yourself. I had read about it from others, but I didn't know what to expect until I finally laid my hands on an O2.
