The RingO cock ring isn’t something I would normally review, but it was included in Babeland’s Blow Job Expert Kit, along with lots of other goodies. It’s your basic cock ring, no bells or whistles. It is, however, one of the better simple cock rings I’ve found. Unlike other thin rings that can easily snap, and have, RingO’s are very thick, durable, and insanely stretchy.
Material – SEBS Silicone
So, some of you may be wondering what in the world “SEBS Silicone” is. The packaging doesn’t really say much other than it’s be examined by the SGS Organization and proven to be non-toxic. Yay, but what the hell is it? SEBS, or Styrene Ethylene Butylene Styrene Copolymer, is a synthetic rubber. Many sites list this product as a TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber)/silicone blend.
It catches fire in seconds, so it doesn’t pass the flame test (pure silicone should not catch fire like that). That being said, I would assume that it is porous and would not recommend it for sharing. I does have a very slight smell, but no taste, in case you’re planning to use it during a blow job.
Lube
Since this does have silicone in it, stay away from any silicone-based lubes. This can make the surface tacky or even melt the toy. Stick to water-based lubes.
Packaging
There really isn’t a whole lot to the packaging; it’s just a foil packet with a clear front and little bits out of the sides to make it easy to tear. As you can tell, it really isn’t discreet. It also doesn’t have much information on it.
Experience
Right out of the package, RingO did have a slight smell, but that was with my nose right up to it; a couple inches away, and you won’t even notice it. I’ve washed it a couple of times, but the smell hasn’t really faded much yet.
I’ll admit, I had some fun seeing how far this thing would stretch. I can safely say that it’ll fit around a roll of duct tape, and maybe even something bigger. I doubt you’ll need it to stretch that far, though. If you would need one that big, I probably don’t want to know what you’re up to.
That being said, you should be able to fit it around any penis and scrotum, too. Placing the ring solely around the penis should provide a harder erection than by placing it around both areas, though. The soft material does attract hair and dust. It’s best to trim pubic hair before putting this on, to avoid the painful pulling of hairs. Also, be careful when putting it on. You don’t want it to snap back on yourself or your partner.
We haven’t had any issues with it moving around or causing any issues. It seems like only inserting the penis provides a longer erection time than placing it around the penis and scrotum.
Cock rings should not be worn for extended periods of time. After about 20 minutes, you should think about attempting to remove it. If you feel any discomfort or numbness, just carefully snip the ring off instead of struggling to get it off.
Cleaning/Care
There are no care instructions on the packaging. I would wash this item with soap and warm water, or use a toy cleaner.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and do not store at a temperature of 100F (24C) for prolonged periods. Store this in a place where it will not be touching or close to other toys (sex toys can melt when touching or near each other due to reactions of the materials), and away from dust and lint.
Opinion
RingO is definitely one of the better cock rings that my husband and I have tried. Since I have no issues with the material safety, and since it seems fairly heavy-duty, I’m figuring it should be around for quite a while. Of course, since it is porous and can’t be sterilized, it will have to be replaced eventually, due to the buildup of bacteria over time.
